Our Stance

The definition of harbour is a place of security and comfort: refuge.

At Harbour Public we recognize that security and comfort are a privilege. Although we are in the business of making objects for your home, no individual or company stands alone from its community. In that context, our team condemns the continued acts of racism in our society and is committed to striving towards the dignity and safety of all its members.

Beginning in June of 2020, our Bright Eyes Mask Collection has been collaborating with Portland artist Marc Bloch of Ice Bloch to stand in solidarity with victims of police brutality and the African American community. The resulting Ice Bloch X Bright Eyes Mask Collection creations are vibrant, ice dyed, masks with all of the comfort and features of a Bright Eyes mask. Fifty percent of every sale goes to Don’t Shoot PDX, a Black-led direct action organization combating racial injustice through dynamic mutual aid strategies.

We now find it necessary to respond to the xenophobia and discrimination against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders that has escalated to horrific violence. Proceeds from a second series of the Ice Bloch X Bright Eyes Mask Collection goes toward supporting the work of Stop AAPI Hate. The center is at the forefront of tracking incidents of hate against the AAPI communities and advocating for policies that reinforce human rights and civil rights protections.

The current global pandemic has magnified the systemic racial and socioeconomic disparities in this country. We will continue to learn and act in accordance with our commitment to be an anti-racist company.
