We took a dated and neglected motel down to the studs to create a fresh, modern base-camp vibe across the 7 rooms that make up the Hood River Adventure Lodge. Metal and reclaimed wood served as our guiding elements, working in harmony with its natural surroundings. Furniture was custom built for each room, ensuring that the amazing views of the gorge and Mount Adams remained the focal point. Bed frames with integrated nightstands, wall mounted desks and clothing racks, storage bench window seats, and live-edge pocket style bathroom doors against crisp white walls were concepted to maximize square footage and create a calming, minimalist setting. Outside, the dark slate exterior and sleek Corten steel accents, including oversized room numbers and planters, beckon adventurers to immerse oneself in the beauty of nature while enjoying the comforts of modern design.
